Emily Irene VanCamp was originally interested in becoming a dancer, but following a trip to her sister Katie's set in the Ladies Room, she became more interested in acting. She started taking acting classes, and also landed appearances on television shows in her homeland Canada. A few of the television shows she starred in include Do You scared of Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's career took off after being cast in the role of Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. While receiving praise from the critics, but the show's low rating ultimately caused it to end up being cancelled after only nine episodes. In reality, she was swift in landing a second role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. The role resulted in her being named a Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
